368 Ethiopians who were released from Saudi Arabian prison returned home today, reported state affiliated Fana Broadcasting Corporation.
Up on arrival in Ethiopia, they were received by spokes person of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Nebiyat Getachew, and his colleagues.
The Ministry coordinated efforts with its embassy and consular office in Saudi Arabia to secure amnesty from Saudi government.
A major change has been underway in the ministry, in terms of policy and structure, as Ethiopia shifts focus on economic diplomacy and rights protection of citizens.
Last year, prime minister Abiy Ahmed managed to secure the release of thousands of Ethiopian prisoners from Saudi Arabia when he was visiting the country.
