Development Bank of Ethiopia (DBE) has ordered 36 vehicles from overseas of which 26 are delivered.
If you are wondering what DBE is doing with them, they are donated to tour companies as part of to strengthen the tourism industry in the country.
Advisor to Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, Woizerit Mamitu Yilma, attended the handing in ceremony. She remarked that DBE’s resolve to support the tourism sector deserves appreciation, as reported by Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC).
She also said that the Ministry of culture and Tourism will support and monitor the tour companies to ensure that the vehicles are used for the intended purpose.
The Ethiopian government is purchasing capital goods to support small and medium scale enterprises and renting them to avoid challenges related to finance needed for capital goods, EBC reported citing the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
