Addis Ababa chamber of Commerce today elected Mesenbet Shenkute as president. She was competing against Salhadin Kelifa, according to a report by The Ethiopian Reporter. The election,including for the position of board members, took place during the 14th congress of the Chamber.
1050 people voted; Mesenbet got 419 votes while Salhadin got 276.
She will be replacing outgoing president Elias Geneti. In terms of experience, she was president of Abay Bank and is currently running her own business ; New Dimension Management Consultancy, according to a report by The Ethiopian Reporter.
