Prominent Oromo Masinko player, Legesse Abdi, passed away on early Sunday at the age of 84. He played masinko for more than 60 years and has produced numerous popular traditional masiko music in Oromo language.
Hager Fikir, National Theater, Addis Ababa Theater and culture and Police Orchestra are some of the country’s giants in the industry where Legesse Abdi served.
His funeral took place today at Kidist Selassie Menbere Tsebat, in the capital Addis Ababa, where Ethiopian national icons are laid to rest.
