Girma Zeleke, an Ethiopian inventor, and a US resident is killed while on a visit to his hometown, Bahir Dar. His nephew reportedly stabbed him with a kitchen knife multiple of times, according to social media reports from Ethiopia. The name of his nephew is not released.
Girma died in hospital and is laid to rest in at Abay Mado Gabriel.
He was known for his Sinzero animation, the first ever in Ethiopia. As well, he invented Electric oven for baking Enjera, popular Ethiopian food. He also introduced image sliding billboard, a software to convert Amharic speech to text form, among others.
He was sixty-two years old.
