Ethiopian parliament approved today the appointment of Election Board Chair and Vice-chair. Prime minister Hailemariam Desalegne proposed the appointment.
Accordingly, Woizero Samia Zacharia and Ato Demoze Mame are elected as Chair and vice chair of the Board respectively.
Samia served as Director of Ethiopian Central statistic Agency for more than ten years. In the last two years, she has been serving as Ethiopian Ambassador to Nigeria.
Demoze Mame served as Ethiopian Human Rights Commission, not to be confused with Human Rights Council Ethiopia, and later as Oromo regional state constitutional interpretation commission office head.
Priest Belay Mekonnen, Woizero Yeshareg Damte, Woizero Tsehay Menkir, Professor Feton Abay, Ato Tekaligne Gebreselassie,Ato Jemal Mohammed and Ato Habte Filacha will serve as board members.
Today was the last day before the Ethiopian parliament dissolve for one month break.
