Rio Olympic Silver Medalist Feyisa Lilesa is reunited with his family after six months, reported the Associated Press. He met his wife Iftu Mulia, his five years old daughter,Soko, and his three years old son,Sora,at Miami International Airport.
Speaking through translator, he is quoted by the Associated Press as saying “The biggest gift is us seeing each other again — and me seeing them again…It’s all been very tough.”
From what he is told the Associated Press, the past six months were not easy. “I come from a very big family, and I’ve never lived alone…I’ve always been surrounded by people I know. This has been the complete opposite. Here, I’m removed from all of that,” said Feyisa.
Feyisa Lilesa refused to return home after he showed protest sign to demonstrate his opposition to the government in Ethiopia for killing civilians.
