Ethiopia’s Coronavirus spread continues to grow unabated. A three-digit number is confirmed for the first time. Over the past twenty-four hours 100 are confirmed to have COVID 19 virus. One patient passed away.

Ethiopia has not yet tested even 100,000 suspected cases in a span of over two or so months. But the number of confirmed cases has reached 831 after 100 more people tested positive for the virus over the past twenty-four hours.
According to Ministry of Health, only three patients, from those confirmed over the past 24 hours, had a recent travel history. Thirty-five patients are confirmed to have contact with an infected person. Sixty-two people have neither a recent travel history nor contact with an infected person.
In terms of age, the patients range from 3 to 70 years of age.
The number of infected people is less than one percent of those tested so far. However, given the rapid increase over the past few weeks and in view of the fact that not too many people are tested so far, the coronavirus situation in the country is worrisome.
