Egyptian president,Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, is meeting with Hailemariam Desalegne on the sidelines of African Union summit in Addis Ababa, reported Ahram Online, citing MENA.
Ahram’s report indicated that Sisi is arriving in Addis Ababa today. He will also meet with the presidents of Kenya and the republic of Congo “to discuss methods of bolstering relations with the African countries in various fields, as well as other regional issues.”
His meeting with Hailemariam Desalegne is expected to be about the dam, among other things, being constructed by Ethiopia over the Nile river.
President Sisi told participants of Youth conference in Aswan, according to Ahram, that the concern about Ethiopia’s Grand Renaissance Dam is legitimate and Egypt is dealing with the matter “in a good way”, as quoted by Ahram.
Ethiopia has recently been accusing of Egypt for supporting radical Oromo ethno-nationalist groups, an allegation that Egypt denied.
